Why does El Galpón shake?

The local newspaper in El Galpón "Expresión del Sur" printed an interview with the "StRATEGy" PIs Prof. Dr. Frank Krüger and Prof. Dr. Fernando Hongn and the PhD student Martin Zeckra. In the interview the researchers explain the seismic risk and geological situation that led to a magnitude 5.9 earthquake on October 17, 2015 in the region. Furthermore, they campaigned the necessity of a local seismic network to record earthquakes, informed the local communities about the seismic risk they have to face in their daily life, and offered scientific support and cooperation for the local municipality in El Calpón.
