"StRATEGy" PhD student Sebastian Zapata Henao started his 6-month lasting stay abroad in Córdoba (Argentina) at the Center of Research in Geosciences (CICTERRA). He is enrolled at the University of Tucumán and will use this opportunity to take courses and workshops to get a binational PhD degree. Furthermore, he will do several fieldtrips to his study area in the Salta province to collect data and rock samples in the framework of his project.

The stay abroad program is an integral part of the qualification program within the International Research Training Group. Numerous of our PhD students take advantage of this opportunity and will study and work for half a year in Argentina during the next year. Despite additional grants from the German Research Foundation (DFG), the program has logistic and administrative support by the German-Argentine University Center (DAHZ-CUAA).
