DFG President with "StRATEGy" in Argentina

A delegation of the German Research Foundation (DFG) led by its president Prof. Dr. Peter Strohschneider and the external office for Latin America under the direction of Dr. Kathrin Winkler, traveled to Argentina one week ago. The aim of the trip was to explore joint and future research collaborations. The international research training group "StRATEGy" at the University of Potsdam, is the only bi-national doctoral program of the DFG with Argentina up to date. In the course of initiating the continuation of "StRATEGy", the program speaker Prof. Manfred Strecker, PhD and other representatives of the research program, presented the existing research cooperations with the Argentine Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET). The trip was rounded up with a one-day excursion to Salta and the Andean foreland basin. In front of this background, Prof. Strecker informed the delegation about the progress and interactions of the German-Argentine projects of the "StRATEGy" doctoral candidates and underlined the importance of conducting geoscientific research in this region.
