Dr. José Pablo Lopez

I am Dr. in Geology, Associate Profesor  of the Facultad de Ciencias Naturales  (Universidad Nacional deTucumán-Argentina) since 2015 and Researcher of the Instituto Superior de Correlación Geológica (INSUGEO-CONICET, Argentina). My reserch interests are the Petrology and Geochemistry of igneous rocks, specially in relation with geochronologyes, magmatic genesis and process of emplacement of them; the  physical-chemical conditions and deformational processes of the metamorphic basement  rocks of low and medium P/T ratio and their relations with the geodynamic environment. I am currently carring out studies of geochemical sedimentary provenance, tectonic and metamorphic evolultion  of a Neoproterozoic sedimentary basin of Pampean Ranges. I think  the ongoing detailed structural studies in the region, combined with the geochronology of intrusive and metamorphic units, should provide some keys to understand the processes that conformed the region during the lower Paleozoic.
