M.Sc. Michele Vallati

Michele Vallati is a PhD student in the International Research Training Group “StRATEGy” at the University of Potsdam, under supervision of Prof. Dr. Maria Mutti and Dr. Gerd Winterleitner. He holds a MSc’s degree in Geology from the University of Padova and his research focus is on quantitative sedimentology and 3D modelling of lacustrine carbonate facies from the Tres Cruces sub-basin in the Salta Basin (North-Western Argentina). This project involves substantial field-work activity and the integration of field-mapping and virtual outcrop modelling in order to create the framework for subsequent forward modelling.
