Supporting collaborations between Argentina and Germany is one of the main focus of StRATEGy. The Geological Service of Argentina (SEGEMAR) plays a major role in providing data and additional information of the study areas.  The StRATEGy PhD student Elisabeth Schönfeldt will give a talk on the handling, application, and usage of drones in  Earth Sciences. The workshop is organized in cooperation with the section of environmental and applied geology of SEGEMAR (Geological Service of Argentina) and focuses on how to fly a drone, flying restrictions, the comparison of different flying applications, and the processing of air-borne pictures.  Drones become increasingly important in geoscience and are a powerful and cost-efficient tool for creating high-resoluted DEMs. Especially in unreachable areas with poor infrastructure, drones are often used as a supporting field tool.
