Uwe Altenberger is the principal investigator of G4.1 in the International Research Training Group "StRATEGy" and holds a professorship in mineralogy at the University of Potsdam. His research interest is constraining the magmatic evolution of the Andes from the Eastern Cordillera in Colombia to Patagonia in Argentina. Furthermore, he has expertise in Rare Earth Element metallogenesis, the formation of pseudotachylites, and the preservation of historical monuments.
