Bio:

Robert Ondrak is principal investigator in the International Research Training Group "StRATEGy" and senior scientist in the Organic Geochemistry section at GFZ Potsdam. His expertise is in modeling petroleum systems, mass and heat transport, fluid rock interactions, and geological processes. More specifically, he uses state of the art modeling packages to construct geological models from well and seismic data which provide the basis for detailed modeling of the burial and temperature history of sedimentary basin. The basin models provide the framework to model oil and gas generation, migration, accumulation and leakage.  Some of the project he is currently involved in projects are a study of the basin evolution of the Lower Magdalena Valley, Colombia and a study of the origin and fate of biogenic methane of Block B13 in the Dutch North Sea.
